Pooch Chi Chi has been hailed after saving her owners' life by opening a LOCKED door for fire crews during a kitchen blaze. The news comes after a dog saved his elderly owners after assisting firefighters in opening a door during a house fire. The fire station manager said the woman was 'pretty shook up' by her ordeal, but was checked by paramedics at the scene and was largely none the worse for her chilly, muddy ordeal. 'We have a walkway we can use for rescue from water, mud and snow, we inflated it and two firefighters were able to get out to her and dig her out by hand with shovels.' He told CorkBe: 'We were asked to give assistance, the woman was up to her waist, it's likely she was looking for a short-cut and parts of the site are firm enough, it's just that she was in a spot where mud had been backfilled and it was very loose.' Johnathan Madden, station manager at Mallow, said they arrived and rapidly assessed the situation.
